Her coach keeps saying she needs more strength. More flexibility. More core. Nobody told you what that actually means at home.

Whether it's flexibility, strength, coordination, or injury prevention — the gap between what the coach says and what to actually do at home is what we fill.

IF YOU'VE EVER WONDERED...

Every performing arts parent has been here...

"Is my child strong enough for what they're asking their body to do?"

"Their coach says they need more core strength... but what does that actually mean?"

"She keeps getting injured. Are we missing something?"

"I want to help, but I don't want to push too hard or do the wrong thing."

You're not alone and you're in the right place.

The Skilled Collection gives performing arts families the expert tools, guided programs, and clear answers they need, without guesswork, overwhelm, or a physical therapy waiting list.

MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO

Welcome, I'm Jena!

Hi, I'm Jena. I'm a Doctor of Athletic Training who has spent 15+ years working inside dance programs, skating clubs, and performance athletic departments, treating the injuries, talking with the teachers/coaches, and watching what actually helps kids thrive.

Most programs for young performers are either too generic (basic gym workouts that don't translate to the stage or rink) or too intense (training borrowed from adult athletes).

Most also miss the most important variable entirely — the nervous system. Flexibility, coordination, and strength all have a neurological component that doesn't respond to volume or pressure. It responds to safety signals.

Neither serves your child well.

My programs are built differently, using clinical movement science, neuromuscular training, and age-appropriate progressions that are specific to how dancers, skaters, and cheerleaders actually move.

The result: kids who move better, get injured less, feel more confident in their sport — and parents who finally understand what's happening in their child's body and what to do about it.

Real families. Real results.

Here's what happens when performing arts kids train with a plan that actually fits their sport.

FAQs

Find Answers to Enhance Working with Me

Can my child do this alone?

All of the exercises can be done independently, but younger kids may benefit from light parent involvement (especially for setup).

What if my child already works out?

This program fills in the foundational gaps many routines miss, improving form, balance, and injury prevention.

What if I’m not sure where to start?

Feel free to reach out to me! Id be happy to guide you for your child's specific goals.

How is this different from what the coach already gives us?

Most coaches are experts in their sport — not in off-ice or off-floor movement science. When a coach says "work on your flexibility" or "build your core," they're identifying the right problem. These programs give you the specific, age-appropriate, science-based plan to actually address it at home between sessions.

What equipment is needed?

Just a resistance band, foam roller or ball, and optional items like a pillow, stick, or squishmallow.

Is this for coaches or parents?

These programs are designed for parents of performing artists ages 8-14 — skaters, dancers, and cheerleaders. No prior training knowledge needed. The parent guide inside each program tells you exactly what to watch for and what to say.

Are these program right for performing artists?

Absolutely. Select your sport above to see programs built specifically for your child's activity and goals.

My child has an injury. Can they still use these programs?

These programs are designed for kids building a foundation. If your child is currently dealing with pain or a specific injury, a Private Session with Jena is the best starting point, she can assess what's safe and build a plan around where they are right now.
